Job Title: Professional Returnship Associate - Corporate Finance - Sioux Falls City: Sioux Falls State: SD Department : HR Academic Affairs - Intern Program Job Schedule: Part Time Shift: Days Hours Per Shift: Other JOB SUMMARY Contributes to Sanford operations and processes while gaining skills and integrating back into a working environment, gaining experiences that align with the mission, vision and values of the organization. Works collaboratively with organization leadership and department teams, enhancing knowledge, refreshing skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Under guidance, designs and completes a project that will provide development and enhancement within department. Attends training and development opportunities. Possesses knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment; ability to adapt as needed. Demonstrates a willingness, interest and ability to enhance one's personal career development. Incorporates new information and concepts quickly, in addition, displays strength in re-learning information in a timely manner. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Displays the ability to meet deadlines. Responsibilities: - Assist with compiling / review of month end internal financial reporting package. - Assist with year end audit work paper / report preparation. - Assist FP & A leads with long-term financial planning objectives. - Assist FP & A leads with database maintenance to ensure data integrity. - Assist FP & A / Financial Reporting teams with ongoing GSS integration work to ensure compliance with year-end audit procedures. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Utilizes available tools or approaches for increasing knowledge of self-motivation. Collaborates with departmental associates and management. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics. Applies available tools and resources to work efficiently. Identifies project management tools and requirements within own function. Asks questions and accepts feedback non-defensively. Develops a clear, complete understanding of needs and problems through careful listening, probing, reflecting, and summarizing. Adapts easily to changing work demands. Demonstrates an expectation that there will be ongoing shifts in demands and priorities. DEPARTMENT DETAILS Financial Planning & Analysis (FP & A) - Assist with enterprise wide budget, financial planning and system maintenance initiatives. Provide clear, concise and professional communication to all market contacts to ensure data integrity and efficiency of preparation. Assist with analysis, interpretation and communications to members of leadership teams. Financial Reporting - Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, both for internal and external stakeholders. Essential skills include attention to detail and quality control reviews to ensure high reporting standards, interpreting financial reporting relationships to ensure accuracy of information, ability to work under tight deadlines, and providing communication to leadership teams as needed. Related areas include collaboration with supporting departments, such as regional finance teams, tax, grants, procurement, etc to ensure department objectives are being met. QUALIFICATIONS Associate or bachelors degree required. Minimum five years relevant experience preferred. Individuals who have been out of the structured workforce for an extended amount of time required. Experience in healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred. Depending on department, applicable licensure/certification may be required. 4 year degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration Excel experience a must, specifically with large data sets and ability to summarize efficiently and effectively to leadership teams Strong communication skills to professional executive teams Relentless attention to detail About Sanford Health: At Sanford Health, we are dedicated to the work of health and healing.
