Nielson is looking for a skilled mechanic to join our shop team! The Mechanic will work with the Lead Mechanic to complete all maintenance and repairs of our fleet vehicles and equipment. This includes on-/off-road trucks, trailers, excavators, paving equipment, small engines, and more. Troubleshoot to resolve problems as they occur and try to do as much in-house maintenance as possible. Assist with parts and maintenance supplies for fleet and equipment. Maintain accurate and complete maintenance paperwork on all vehicles Assist with inventory of the shop, including ordering parts and materials if needed. Assist employees with proper maintenance practices of all equipment Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and other employees. Maintain an organized and clean shop. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of diesel, automotive, trucks, and equipment is required. A valid driver license is required. Must be able to work well with others, be dependable, attentive to detail, and produce high quality work. Relevant degrees are preferred but not required.
