Description Crescent Hotels & Resorts is a world-class hotel management company, operating a growing and diverse portfolio of branded and independent boutique hotels across North America. Are you a senior Human Resources professional with hospitality experience? Are you hands-on and energetic? If so, you may be the person we're looking for to lead our Canadian Division's Human Resources discipline. There is flexibility about where you will be based, including the option of work-from-home, but some travel may be required. The Vice President of Human Resources - Canada will be responsible for providing support and direction to our Canadian group of hotels, across five time zones and in five provinces. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support, interpretation and compliance with issues related to provincial Employment Standards;
  • Ensuring roll-out and compliance with corporate initiatives;
  • Providing training, support and trouble-shooting for payroll and HRIS;
  • Working closely with property management, including General Managers and HR, to provide support and advice for a variety of human resources issues including recruitment, human rights, employment standards, performance management and discipline, and training;
  • Working closely with both the Canadian and US corporate teams (Operations, Revenue Generation, and Finance) to ensure consistency and continuity;
  • Taking an active role in collective bargaining, and supporting the hotels in handling of grievances. Required skills and abilities for this position include:
    • Minimum five years' experience as a property-level Director of Human Resources, or two years at a multi-property level;
    • CHRL designation or equivalent in your province;
    • Experience in labor relations, including negotiating collective agreements;
    • Exceptional written and oral communications skills in English;
    • Knowledge of full suite of Microsoft Office products;
    • Familiarity with payroll processes and requirements, using an integrated system. The following skills are preferred, but not required:
