Acts in concert with executive leadership to lead in formulating an innovative strategic direction, executing all facets of operations, and measuring results toward approved strategic plans and quality outcomes. Accountable for the formulation and achievement of all operations by creating a performance-based culture and managing both short-range and long-range strategic outcomes. Plans, directs, organizes and evaluates the implementation of strategic operational plans that align with system goals to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care of services with a positive margin.Works in close collaboration with executive leadership to set strategic direction, formulate strategies, define success measures, and refine strategies as needed to assure sustainability across all areas of the organization.Supervises all operational systems. Responsible for overall management of the organization's operational employees to ensure proper management oversight, effective performance management, and workforce compliance.Oversees and acts as primary contact for all strategic alliances, partnerships, and assigned affiliated corporations assuring effective execution of shared strategic outcomes.Communicates on a consistent and timely basis with all constituencies, both internal and external, regarding expectations and achievement of goals.Ensures that the philosophy, goals and objectives remain consistent with the overall mission, values and strategic plan of the enterprise. Defines a person-centered culture that values innovation, quality, consistency of delivery, and alignment with emerging priorities in delivery of care. Advises enterprise leaders regarding the market's community, financial, growth, people, risk, safety, quality and service matters.Reviews and evaluates all operations systems on an ongoing basis seeking better ways to deliver care, build new models, assure efficiencies, pursue meaningful partnerships, ensure and take accountability for regulatory compliance, and meet sustainability goals that are strategically driven.Demonstrates skills in interpersonal relationships, medical staff relations, planning, development, project management, information management, reimbursement contract negotiation/understanding, grant writing and marketing.QualificationsBachelor's degree in health care administration, business or related field required. Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) or a master s degree in a related field preferred.Minimum of seven years of experience in health care administration with increasing responsibilities required. Minimum of ten years of health care management experience and at least five years of senior leadership experience as a chief operating officer, senior operations officer or chief executive officer in a progressive, financially sound long-term care, hospital or other health care system preferred.Must possess strong in-depth knowledge of the full and evolving well-being spectrum of long-term care and related services, have strong experience in health care integration across multiple states, possess high-level leadership qualities, and have a strong understanding of the changing health care marketplace.Membership in a professional health care management organization, such as the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) or the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) preferred.BenefitsSanford Health offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
