Zurich North America is currently looking for an experienced Regional Operations Manager supporting our Crop Insurance line of business. This role is looking for someone who can be based out of our Sioux Falls, SD office. As a Regional Operations Manager you will be managing a team of 6-10 direct reports.
Key Accountabilities include:

• Lead a team of underwriting managers and specialists
• Implementation of Crop policy underwriting services and procedures.
• Deliver efficient and profitable policy underwriting services supporting business growth and excellent customer service.
• Oversee in-depth policy trends and analysis to understand the drivers of efficiency and profitability of one or more segments of the Line of Business.
• Provide expert support and consultation to underwriters, sales and claims colleagues as well as agent customers as required. Develop and maintain strong market-facing presence for segments managed.
• Lead the implementation of projects for a function or business area to deliver defined objectives with allocated resources and in timescales typically of less than one year.
• Monitor and oversee regional policy portfolio for timely and accurate servicing, taking appropriate action to ensure no regulatory or policy limits have been breached and full compliance with regulators.
• Analyze key themes from policy and performance data to determine best practices, efficiencies and improve the customer experience.
• Develop and propose action plans for improvement in dealing with complex customer cases in response to colleagues and customer feedback to ensure the organization meets their needs.
• Use insights from customer to deliver value to customers within own area or nationwide.
• Provide expert advice within specialized area of underwriting to deliver solutions.
• Develop less experience members of the team/department to raise the capability levels of the organization. Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR
      • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR
        • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area Preferred Qualifications:
          • Bachelors Degree
          • CPCU
          • People management experience
          • Strong verbal and written communication skills
          • Consulting experience
