  Job Summary
  
  The stroke coordinator maintains primary responsibility for the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Avera McKennan's DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center certification related to stroke patients. - The Stroke Coordinator works with the interdisciplinary care team and multiple other departments involved in the care and support of stroke patients in order to maintain and continuously enhance the prevention, care, education, and recovery of patients at risk for stroke. The stroke coordinator is a stroke expert nurse who provides leadership for the program and the services and systems necessary for a collaborative approach to stroke care across the continuum. The stroke coordinator will coordinate daily responsibilities of process and performance improvement activities related to all aspects of the stroke program.
  
  Education and/or Experience
  
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. - Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
    
  • Bachelors of nursing degree is required; Masters of Science is preferred.
    
  • Minimum of two to four years' medical/surgical nursing experience is required.
    
  • Brain, Spine & Stroke nursing experience preferred.
    
    
    Licensure/Certification/Registration
    
    
    • 
      
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
      
    • SCRN and/or CNRN certification required.

          The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. -
