    Job Summary
    
    
    • 
      
    • The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is accountable for performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic and bacteriologic procedures following established standards and practices. - Data is used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
      
    • Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. -
      
    • Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Religious Directives.
      
      
      Education and/or Experience
      
      
      • 
        
      • Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician and one or two years of Medical Laboratory Technician experience/training acceptable to ASCP or AMT. New grads acceptable.
        
        
        Licensure/Certification/Registration
        
        
        • 
          
        • Certification as Medical Laboratory technician required within one year of hire date.
          
          
          Work Schedule
          
          
          • 
            
          • Varied shifts
            
          • Every third weekend/holiday night shift -
            
          • 80 -hours every 2 weeks
            
            
            Pay
            
            The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
