Avera is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) - House Supervisor looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera's patient-focused settings.

  Job Summary
  
  Serves as a resource person to staff, both clinically and administratively. - As the off shift representative of management: - represents and supports management, supervises staff and makes administrative decisions, which may involve patients and their families and Avera McKennan staff. - Maintains a global perspective as a basis for decision-making. - Coordinates utilization of resources including staff and equipment and monitors patient placement/throughput. Seeks to enhance quality of care by acting as a consultant and mentor. - Provides feedback to the appropriate nursing leader regarding staff and clinical situations as necessary. - Contributes to an environment that promotes staff empowerment. - Serves as BHS Urgent Care staff member providing information, responding to phone calls and providing intake assessments. - Consults with BHS On-Call Manager / Director / Assistant Vice President for Behavioral Health Services as needed.
  
  Supervisory Responsibilities
  
  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  
  Education and/or Experience
  
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. - Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
    
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
    
  • Previous management experience preferred.
    
    
    Licensure/Certification/Registration
    
    
    • 
      
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required. - -
