Job Description Job Description LQTC3000 Our organization is currently in search of a Nurse Practitioner for our Aurora, CO clinic. This position is crucial in providing exceptional care to our service members, ensuring they receive the support they need. As a Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities will encompass a range of general medicine, occupational, and disability health assessments, which include but are not limited to: Evaluating medical histories and relevant documentation Analyzing clinical data Drafting detailed reports and formulating independent medical opinions (IMO) Examinations may be conducted in various settings, including in-person at the clinic, at the examinee's residence, via telephone, during large events for the Reserve Health Readiness Program, or through telehealth platforms. This role requires travel of up to 30% to perform physical assessments for veterans and service members across multiple locations nationwide. All travel expenses will be reimbursed, and a per diem will be provided. Work Schedule and Expectations: Typically Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour workday (between 8 AM and 5 PM), with occasional weekend or evening shifts based on operational requirements. 30% travel across the country Comprehensive onboarding and training program with increasing complexity as your skills and understanding grow Fully staffed clinic to assist with operations We cover costs for licensing, malpractice insurance, continuing medical education (CME), and more! Potential annual bonus of up to 30% of your base salary Key Responsibilities: Conduct physical examinations for a diverse clientele, including federal and defense personnel Perform occupational health assessments, including pre-employment, post-employment, and annual physicals Provide written medical opinions based on the medical records and acceptable clinical evidence (ACE) Facilitate telephonic and virtual examinations Conduct assessments in unique settings such as homebound visits and event locations Complete Veterans Benefits Administration Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) Perform primary medical evaluations, including system reviews, pap smears, and range of motion assessments Initial review and interpretation of diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests, pulmonary function tests, and ECGs Document examinee records in the appropriate systems Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and communicate effectively with internal and client teams to determine the best evidence-based approaches for the examinee population. Required Competencies: Exhibit compassion, professionalism, and a dedication to delivering outstanding customer service and care to claimants Ability to thoroughly assess examinee health status through physical examinations from a primary care perspective Collaborative decision-making skills focused on proactive and evidence-based standards of care Strong analytical skills to evaluate and provide medical opinions Proficient in reviewing and interpreting standard clinical diagnostics Technologically adept with computers and tablets, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Electronic Medical Records Understanding of workplace health and safety principles Essential Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution Current national certification with ANCC or AANP A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in primary care or internal medicine Unrestricted state medical licensure allowing full practice scope in the state of employment Capability to obtain a DEA license Valid BLS or ACLS certification Ability to acquire and maintain clinical training and certifications as required by current and future contracts Must have a current REAL ID-compliant identification or equivalent TSA-approved ID before the start date Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary government clearances (LARS, Public Trust, NACI, etc.) Must pass a medical clearance, including an N95 respirator fit test, proper use of organizational respiratory protective equipment, a Tuberculosis (TB) test, and receive a Hepatitis A/B vaccine series or pass a Hepatitis A/B Titer test, along with other required medical clearances/vaccinations.
