Weekly Hours: 40.00 Department Overview This position may involve
on-call duties and occasional weekend shifts. Job Summary The role
involves overseeing nursing home personnel and nursing operations,
which includes resident care and maintaining records. You will
manage the nursing staff assigned to specific shifts, ensuring
resources are allocated effectively within the designated time
frame. Responsibilities include: Assigning residents to nursing
staff based on the residents' conditions and the staff's skill
levels. Evaluating employee performance. Assisting in the
onboarding of new staff and the ongoing development of current team
members. Monitoring cleanliness and readiness in resident care
areas and other nursing home facilities. Providing nursing care to
residents as needed, which may include administering oxygen, basic
life support (BLS), potential IVs, or medications as prescribed. A
strong understanding of clinical practices, strategic planning, and
administrative and financial principles is essential, along with
excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Qualifications A
Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Graduation from a
nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, such as those
accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN),
or the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education
Accreditation (NLN CNEA). For employees at Rural Health Network
facilities and GSS locations without a Bachelor’s degree,
leadership may consider an educational plan aimed at achieving a
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing within five years of hiring. Current
employees may have qualifications and experience considered
equivalent based on facility size, rural market, and business needs
prior to new educational requirements. A minimum of three years of
nursing management experience is required, with at least two years
at a managerial level or higher. Experience in long-term care or
subacute care for at least one year is necessary. Comprehensive
knowledge of the nursing practice act and nursing care standards,
along with familiarity with administrative and management
techniques, is essential. Must hold an unencumbered RN license from
the State Board of Nursing in the practice area, or possess
multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Must obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies
