Job Description:

The Housekeeping staff is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, attractive and comfortable living environment for residents, employees and the public, in accordance with established Federal, state and local standards, procedures and in support of ABHM mission and core values. Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs day-to-day housekeeping functions under the supervision of the Environmental Services Director, in accordance to established housekeeping standards, policies, procedures and schedules.Works with a minimum of supervision to ensure all areas are maintained in a safe, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various duties using the necessary equipment and supplies. Assigned housekeeping areas include, but are not limited to, cleaning residents' rooms and all common areas (hallways, elevators, service areas, restrooms, linen closets, etc.) Performs general cleaning, floor care, sanitizing, polishing furniture/fixtures, waste removal, stocking supplies, cleaning windows, etc. May include other designated activities such as management of linens and inventory distribution, stocking, and collection.Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.Ensures that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, including before leaving work areas for breaks, meal times and end of work day.Ensures adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks is maintained in utility closets.Demonstrates the ability to safely and effectively use all needed equipment, cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE). Follows established policies governing the use of labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)Applies the knowledge and skills needed for the position, including technical competence in the housekeeping services field; maintain knowledge of organization and industry policies and practices.Follows established infection control (universal precautions) and appropriate PPE and supplies when performing housekeeping job assignments, including handling infectious materials and/or hazardous wastes or chemicals.Attends and participates in mandatory in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as directed (i.e. OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, etc.). Develops and maintains a good working rapport with department personnel as well as with other departments within the community to assure that housekeeping services can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents, employees and general public.Provides courteous and supportive customer service to all residents and other customers.Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Reports known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.Completes job responsibilities as assigned and in a reasonable amount of time. Other duties as assigned.
