Executive Chef Position for 400-seat lakefront restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. The Okoboji Store is a $4M seasonal operation with 150 seasonal staff members and about 15 full-time managers. The menu is upscale casual-midwestern with a creative twist and features solid fan favorites as well as trending specialties. Our Executive Chef will have the opportunity to create menu items annually as it is our commitment to continue to evolve with trends while staying true to theme. We pride ourself on scratch-cooking recipes when it counts despite our large size. Entres are made from scratch as our sauces, desserts, and all salads. We insist in only the best ingredients including Certified Angus beef. The Executive Chef at the Okoboji Store must be a great coach, enjoy developing people, and love a very fast-paced environment. We are very fortunate to have an extremely large quantity of student workers who make up our line cooks, food runners, and servers. While they require training, they are plentiful because Okoboji Iowa is paradise in the summer! The students are truly our secret to success. In addition to regular service, the Okoboji Store is a sister company to a boat dealership and marina with whom we partner to create several private events annually. The Executive Chef is responsible for curating the menus for these events. The Executive Chef is a member of a 10-person management team between front, back, and administative roles. We believe in collaboration and our management team works together weekly to celebrate successes, solve problems and work to nurture staff esprit de corps.
