Contract - 5 Months - 1 April 2021 - Toronto, ON Canada On behalf of our client in the Banking Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer. Business Intelligence Developer - Job Description

• Working for a special project - convert the Reports to a new Platform - from SAS to Python/Tableau/SQL
• Review existing processes, provide recommended solutions, and execute on full automation using the existing data architecture and toolsets
• Lead the implementation of initiatives in support of overall business/function strategy
• Elicit, analyze and understand business and data requirements to develop complete business solutions, including data models (entity relationship diagrams, dimensional data models) and business rules, data life-cycle management, governance, lineage, metadata and reporting elements
• Apply automation and innovation on data platforms and on-going on any new development projects / initiatives aligned to business or organizational strategies
• Design and implement complex business data information management frameworks to provide a solution that meets business requirements
• Create comprehensive and automated BI & Reporting solutions to utilize data infrastructure, localized DataMarts and external data sources
• Collaborate with technology and business partners to identify opportunities and resolve issues and ensure accurate & quality requirements and established SLAs regarding data gov, privacy, availability, security and overall project success
• Work closely with various technology/project teams to understand the business meaning of data and proactively provide analysis, recommendations, and requirements to ensure the data and report design is fully understood and the development initiatives are in line with the intended design and standards
• Support the user community by providing industry knowledge, documenting all progress & process in our central Confluence page, including knowledge transfer
• Implement processes aligned to enterprise frameworks or methodologies for data information management and reporting standards and ensure data quality and requirements are developed
• Participate in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
• Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices
• Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
• Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
• Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques which may include cross-training within own team
• Keep others informed and up to date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
• Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

  • Advanced Automation Experience taking legacy data processes in Mainframe SAS, Excel, etc. and automating them to be fully touch-free leveraging Python, Microsoft SQL Stack, Alteryx, or other available software
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS (HOST/Mainframe SAS, PC SAS, SAS GRID)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
  • Expert knowledge of ETL processing and data-warehousing storage
  • Advanced Statistical knowledge and Advanced Analytical methodologies
  • Working Knowledge of various reporting tools including SSRS and Tableau
  • Working knowledge of EBX Box and other various data transfer tools
  • 5+ years of database development experience on at least 2 database platforms (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle)
  • Ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead projects from requirements to deployment with minimal supervision
  • Operate in a collaborative and cooperative environment and must possess the strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues at various levels of the organization
