Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:The SQF Practitioner has been designated by senior
management to develop, validate, verify and maintain the company's
Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan. The SQF Practitioner has
the responsibility and necessary resources to fully manage the Food
Safety programs at AMPI facilities and ensure it meets and/or
exceeds all the requirements of SQF and FSMA.ESSENTIAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:This list of duties and responsibilities is not
all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and
responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to
time:Lead the development and implementation of Food Safety
Fundamentals as outlined in the SQF code.Maintain, verify, and
validate the Food Safety Plan as outlined in the SQF code, FSMA,
and all AMPI policies.Oversee the development, implementation,
review and maintenance of the SQF Code, FSMA requirements, and all
AMPI policies.Take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of
the SQF and FSMA food safety plans. This includes initiating an
annual review by senior management, documenting all changes to the
food safety plans, validating those changes, and all AMPI
policies.Communicate to relevant personnel all information
essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of
the food safety plans.Verification and Validation activities are
the responsibility of the SQF Practitioner.The SQF Practitioner
will establish a frequency schedule and methods for verifying and
validating the following programs:Pre-Requisite Programs (review
and sign-off)Critical Food Safety and Quality LimitsPreventative
and Process ControlsMonitoring Activities for:Pre-Requisite
ProgramsCritical Control PointsCritical Quality PointsOther Food
Safety ProgramsPreventative and Process ControlsScheduling,
Conducting, and documenting Internal Audits.This position must
follow, at all times, all GMP, safety, and other plant policies and
proceduresMust be Proficient in all lab functions.Is responsible
for QA Manager functions when necessary.Documents and monitors
corrective actions from regulatory inspections.Oversee the
environmental monitoring program and documentation.Oversees the
cheese quarantine system.Helps verify proper calibration on testing
equipment.Helps oversee all quality personnel and functions.Helps
oversee deviations and dispositions of product.Assists QA Manager
monitor SOP's and SSOP's are performed properly.EDUCATION /
EXPERIENCE: Bachelors' degree in dairy science, food science, or a
biological science or related field preferred.One to three years of
relevant work experience preferred.Experience with GFSI, FSMA,
HACCP and GMP's as they relate to food safety programs.Technical
knowledge of dairy industry is preferred.Prior experience in
manufacturing is a plus.SQF Practitioner training required or
willingness to complete and pass training.PCQI training required or
