Overview









The Bancorp's Internship program is designed to give students a meaningful and challenging hands-on learning experience as well as an inside look into a career in the financial services. Interns are immersed into our culture and will work on real projects within their business lines/function that will expand their knowledge and the tools needed to successfully launch their career and complement their education with real-world job experience. This intern will support the Data Science team on tasks related to technology refresh projects and other day-to-day operational activities. Work through daily reporting to identify cardholder activity that violates the banks procedures specific to suspicious activity monitoring. Provide operational support of client programs by managing daily departmental processes, ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements.













Responsibilities









Essential FunctionsReview alerts from various reports, compare the activity from the generated alert to the activity taking place on the account within various processor systems. Work with new and existing systems for population of data identified through work queues.

  • Manage the ACH Tran Code Creation Tool so that reporting built from that system's data mapping is accurate.
  • Download all Compromised Card Notifications from Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Networks and upload those lists along with the description of the Compromise Notifications into the Compromised Card tool. Partner with the Relationship Managers to identify Compromise Card Contacts and whitelisted IP addresses where applicable in cases where notifications cannot be uploaded without the population of such fields.
  • Test process modifications and new processes in new and existing systems to ensure that the data entry, maintenance, and reporting processes work smoothly and efficiently. Ensure the quality of the workflow design through the testing and feedback process.
  • Perform routine monitoring of various operational reports for internal and regulatory compliance. Escalate issues and concerns to the risk and compliance team for further action. Participate in established compliance training and educational programs to maintain currency and awareness of regulatory rules, standards, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate and present ideas to senior leadershipExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsA team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environmentProficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Prefer technology-based or operational experience in a card issuing environment which may include classwork, employment, or special projectsPrefer customer service experience; will accept strong communication skills with customer orientationWorking knowledge / understanding of any of the following are a plus:
  • Windows 7 and 10
  • ExcelProgram Eligibility Eligible to work for any employer in the United States for the full duration of the internship. The Bancorp will not assist in applying for visas or altering the visa status of applications.
  • Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate college degree program at the rising junior level, junior or senior level standing, enrolled in a master's program or recently graduated within the past six monthsStudents must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, this will be confirmed by the recruiter.Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree directly related to the department for which the internship program is listed.Must be available for full-time internship.May not be related to any employee of The Bancorp.
