Senior Security Analyst is an independent contributor and a
critical part of the CyberGuard security team that will provide an
objective analysis to identify and solve security risks to
technology and business processes. They will work with Financial
Professionals regularly to understand security challenges and
assist in designing security controls to meet regulatory
requirements and address elevated risk profiles.The Senior Security
Analyst will have advanced Information Technology Security
technology and process-related experience. This position will
liaise between business and financial professionals throughout the
firm to identify and manage Information Security and Information
Technology Risks. This position will also perform duties that will
include but are not limited to incident response management and
coordination, reviewing security technologies, partner/vendors, and
business processes from a security perspective to enhance the
organization's security posture to an appropriate level. The Senior
Security Analyst will have hands-on security technology management
related to the Financial Professional Security program. Our ideal
candidate will understand regulatory security guidance emphasizing
NIST controls and consult with financial professionals and security
team leaders to apply those security controls.Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and communicate current and emerging risks
with appropriate business and technology leaders.
- Influence and negotiate appropriate actions to mitigate or
prevent failures related to identified risks.
- Liaise with Information Technology and Financial Professionals
to gather data to support the quantification of various emerging
risk scenarios.
- Assist Branch Exam teams in performing IT and IS Risk
assessments against Advisor Group's Unified Control Framework for
financial professionals.
- Analyze business processes and technical controls to understand
better potential risks, concerns, and outcomes associated with
security program enhancements and decisions.
- Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive
assessment.
- Create reports, summaries, presentations, and process documents
to display results.
- Collaborate with other team members and external and internal
auditors to effectively analyze and present security and risk
profiles for the Financial Professionals and Branches.
- Develop systems and processes for gathering and storing data
for future analytic projects.
- As needed, assist with special projects related to CyberGuard
Security Program for Financial Professionals, Risk Management, and
other security-related business needs.
- All other duties assigned.Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in information security, information
technology, information security assurance, or related field is
preferred; H.S. Diploma or GED certificate + Significant Practical
Experience will be consideredBasic Requirements:
- 5 - 6 years of experience as a Security Analyst or Senior
Security Analyst in a similar industry or related field.
- A deep understanding of Information Technology (i.e., Active
Directory, Firewalls, Routers, Infrastructure, Databases, Logging,
Monitoring, Change Management, Segregation of Duties,
Cybersecurity, Physical Security, IT operations, Network Security,
SIEM, DLP, EDR, and Cloud Computing).
- A working knowledge and understanding of Azure Cloud Security
and Azure Security Center operations, data security, network
security, identity and access management, policy management, and
risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily
deadlines for projects.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio, and
other analysis programs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously
to complete work.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems
independently with data.
- Presentation skills, including public speaking and presentation
creation using PowerPoint or a similar program.
- CISSP or CISA certifications are strongly preferred. Other
relevant certificates will be considered.
- Understanding risks and internal controls and the ability to
evaluate and determine the adequacy and effectiveness of
controls.
- Experience with NIST Risk Framework.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a
demonstrated ability to articulate effectively and authoritatively
on all matters related to the security program.
- Ability to travel 5% to 10%.Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with FINRA, FFIEC, PCI, CCPA, and NYDFS regulatory
requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to
anticipate issues and design appropriate solutions.
- Experience in performing security analyst functions, building
technical risk assessments, and performing security assurance
